We celebrate World Day of Prayer for Creation on Tuesday September 1st.  It is more poignant this year with the landslides in Nepal and Tibet causing severe destruction.  It is claimed that climate change had a big part to play in this disaster.

This weekend we celebrate the Feast of the Queenship of Mary.

As Saint Paul suggests in Romans 8:28–30, God has predestined human beings from all eternity to share the image of his Son. All the more was Mary predestined to be the mother of Jesus. As Jesus was to be king of all creation, Mary, in dependence on Jesus, was to be queen.

Congratulations to all our young parishioners who received their Leaving Cert results on Friday Aug 21.  We wish them the very best as they plan their future paths.

We celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Saturday August 15th.  There will be a vigil mass on Friday 14th at 6.30pm and Saturday morning mass is at 10.00am. 
Mass will be held at Barrigone Holy Well at 3pm on Saturday 15th.

Congratulations to Mayo on winning the All Ireland Football Final in Croke Park Dublin on Sunday July 26.  It ended a long wait of 75 years. 
Grandparents Day 2026 is celebrated on Sunday, July 26, 2026, which aligns with the global Catholic World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly and coincides with the Feast of Sts. Joachim and Anne.  We congratulate & honour the grandparents among our community

Then we have the World Cup final between Spain🇪🇸and Argentina 🇦🇷
