Limerick Social Services Council

Our annual Limerick Social Services Council Collection takes place on weekend of 22/23 January.  The funds raised in the collection go towards the day-to-day running of the Centre at Upper Henry Street Limerick

Limerick Social Services Council has been actively involved in the work of responding to need and helping people in social care activities since 1966 in the Limerick region.

A brief resume of the Council’s work is attached.

 

 

Some of the valuable work undertaken by this charity is as follows:

  • Counselling and psychotherapy service which offers access to qualified counsellors.
  • Early Years service with crèche and preschool.
  • Child and Family Service which includes Parents/Teen Mother Support programme for mothers in the local community.  Family Advocacy Service, Family Welfare Conference service, Community Mothers programme, Community Social Work and Family Support Service.
  • Older Persons service.
  •  New Child and Family Centre in the Southside Education Campus, this service provides targeted early years intervention.
