Antoni Gaudi and La Sagrada Familia

Antoni Gaudí died on the 10th of June 1926 after being knocked down by a tram while making his way, as he did every evening, to La Sagrada Família from the Church of Sant Felip Neri.

He designed and worked on La Sagrada Familia cathedral in Barcelona and it was 25% completed when he was killed. It is still unfinished today after 140 years.  It is funded by donations from the public and is set for completion in 2026

Pope Benedict XVI officiated at the ceremony consecrating the Basilica on November 7 2010
